So… you are considering stepping up and leading either a Guidon Local Chapter or Special Interest Group. Great! Running a group like this is not only a tremendous help to the community at large, but can also position you to raise awareness around you as a subject matter expert. Congratulations! In my experience serving as the focal point of a high-performing and well-received group is, in fact, about the best thing you can do to stand out from the crowd and win work based on the merits of your subject matter expertise.
Now for the bad news: running a group like this is a labor of love. It takes consistent grooming and attention to assemble a group of professionals …. and get them coming back month after month. - Compelling Content (aka putting butts in seats)
- Creating a “no sales” or “low sales” environment
- Quality Speakers – the make or break element
- Event Prep
- Event Marketing
- Event Execution
